How to Connect Your Bol.com API Credentials (Step-by-Step)

A complete walkthrough for generating and connecting your Bol.com API client ID and secret to third-party tools like invoicing software.

Connecting your Bol.com account to external tools โ€” like invoicing software, analytics dashboards, or repricing tools โ€” requires API credentials. Here's how to generate them safely.

Step 1: Log in to the Bol.com Seller Portal

Go to partner.bol.com and sign in with your seller account. Make sure you're using an account with admin permissions โ€” only admins can create API credentials.

Step 2: Navigate to API Settings

Click on your account name in the top right corner, then go to API-instellingen (API Settings). You'll see a list of existing credentials, if any.

Step 3: Generate new credentials

Click "Genereer nieuwe API-credentials". Bol.com will show you a Client ID and Client Secret. Copy the Client Secret immediately โ€” it's only shown once. If you lose it, you'll need to generate new credentials.

Step 4: Enter them in your invoicing tool

In Marketplace Invoice (or any tool you're connecting), paste your Client ID and Client Secret in the settings page. Click "Test connection" to verify everything works.

Security tips

  • Never share your Client Secret โ€” treat it like a password
  • Use separate credentials for each tool โ€” if one gets compromised, you can revoke it without affecting others
  • Revoke unused credentials โ€” if you stop using a tool, delete its API credentials from Bol.com

Common issues

"Connection failed" โ€” Double-check that you copied the full Client Secret without leading or trailing spaces. Also verify your Bol.com account has the required permissions.

"Unauthorized" โ€” Your credentials may have been revoked. Generate new ones in the Bol.com portal.
